Dear Shaded Viewers,
Breakfast at the Mayfair Hotel with LFW’s Philipp Hinz and The DM Media team
Numero’s Philip Utz and Dovie of DM Media
Videos will be posted on both Luella and Marios later.
Marios Schwab and Nicola Formichetti before and after the show
Marios showed a powerful yet commercial collection. The fact that he was the winner of the prestigious Swiss Textiles Award last November was evident in the range of luscious fabrics like slithery jerseys, gilded knits and an array of red carpet dresses. The coherent and innovative collection was a giant step up the ladder to success.
Husam El Odeh did the accessories for Marios Schwab
I ran into Husam El Odeh after Marios shows at the tents, not much sleep last night.
Super sad that I missed Stephen Jones new perfume launch at the Dover Street Market. This is the newest collaboration with Comme des Garcons perfumes. I had a meeting and just could not make it as afterwards I had to stop by my hotel before leaving for 10 Downing Street at 20h. You had a preview of Stephen Jones’ perfume yesterday on my site.
I had a lovely evening with Robb Young at 10 Downing Street, the invite said no phones, no cameras, etc. so foolishly I listened, could have snapped Robb knocking on the door of 10 Downing Street. Mrs. Sarah Brown invited the players from the British Fashion Industry to celebrate 25 years of British Fashion. We arrived at the same time as Boudicca’s Brian and Zowie, chatted with Mandi Lennard, Gareth Pugh and Henry Holland. Henry is starting his new tv show on October 4th, more on that later. Had fun with Mark Eley of Eley Kishimoto, his show is later today. I was charmed when SHOWstudio’s Nick Knight came over and introduced himself. It was announced that there will be a British Fashion Award of the same, or close to, the important award given out in the US by the CFDA. All in all a perfect night.
This morning’s first show, Stella MaCartney Adidas might make me turn into a raver. Absolutely the most fun invite of the season.
More later,
Diane
