Dear Shaded Viewers,

I was invited to Stockholm by +46, as a member of the jury. Siv Stoldal won the +46 prize.

Nordic Light Hotel and my view

I met Sandra Backlund and Ante for lunch and we drove about 20 minutes outside of the center of Stockholm for a lovely lunch in a garden. Sandra, you might remember, won the 1st prize at the festival d’Hyeres a little over a year ago.

I met with a journalist from the Swedish Newspaper and then we all went off to see the installation by Siv Stoldal. I liked her concept, she interviewed men outside of the fashion world, and saw their wardrobes and asked them how they related and chose their clothes. She spoke with hunters, engineers, old retired men, they all had strong relationships to their clothing. One man bought a package of 25 looks through a hunting website. Everything was in olive green, the collection worked from the inside out from the underwear to the thicker outerwear. Nothing made any sound. She listened to the stories of the Norwegian men and then got inspired and created the pieces that formed her mini collection. Siv is one of the designers making a film for SHOWstudio’s new project.
