Dear Shaded Viewers,
Valery Demure will be bringing her designers to Paris. Visit her site for more details.
If Scott Stephen’s last collection was a ramble on the heath in tweeds and loafers, his spring 07 offering is a hussle on an up-lit dancefloor in stacked-up platforms and a plunging neckline. This is discotastic jewellery inspired by the unadulterated hedonism of the world’s most famous nightclub, Studio 54.
Taking the names of the beautiful disco denizens who partied those heady New York nights away Scott has paid homage with a range of stunning pieces designed to be worn under a pulsing strobe light. Bianca, Krystle, Venus, Brooke, Doodie, Grace – names, and ladies, who evoked the hedonistic opulence of an era.
Earrings, necklaces and bracelets drip with clustered charms. The disco ball, ultimate symbol of full-on fabulousness, is re-interpreted as orbs embellished with hundreds of minute hand-applied glass beads rich purples, vivid magentas, rich golds, mint greens and peacock blues. Here and there fine chains or Chantilly lace add a flirty touch.
Glossy tresses and fancy flicks are held in place with hi-glam headpieces and heavily embellished alice bands.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE FROM DIANE PERNET:
Diane remains a victim of identity theft & fraud. The crime syndicate in Nigeria who is posing as Diane has now begun opening additional e-mail accounts (at Free.fr) under her name, in addition to her original Gmail.com account. If you receive any solicitation from firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com (or any other email addresses) asking for money to be sent, please do NOT reply and do NOT send any money. These fraudsters continue to mutate into more sophisticated forms so don’t be fooled. Diane is fine, enjoying London Fashion Week, and has NEVER been to Nigeria and does not need any assistance. Diane can be contacted by posting on her blog, www.ashadeviewonfashion.com, and her whereabouts always known through the blog as well. Diane appreciates all your concern but reassures you she is doing very well apart from this nasty muddle.
