After taking a two-year hiatus from the runway while making fashion films, Casey Cadwallader brought back the live show elements to showcase a totally charged fashion show. The exhilarating display of live motion in action brought Mugler’s film characters to life, they are the soul of the brand both on and off the screen. Key faces that have become synonymous with the Mugler brand: Arca, Shalom, Irina, Eva and Mona, rode the runway on a live filming rig before stepping off to werk the runway. Spliced, cropped, sheer, body-con, leather and lacing were themes this season at Mugler. The sculpting, draping and leatherwork were the ultimate standouts. Menswear was also incorporated into the collection with an all leather biker feel to it. The introduction of the spiral curve handbag also made its debut and had Arca ripping one out of the hands of a member of the audience front row so she could strut with it. Iconic to say the least! The focus was on bringing fun back to the runway, reminiscent of the 90s, and that’s exactly what Casey Cadwallader did. It was fierce!
