Feeding Eagles -A small report from the East from House of Waris

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I received this lovely mail from Waris, the man behind the most beautiful and very spiritual, luxury brand, House of Waris. I am still dreaming of his platnium diamond infinity ring. I asked Waris if I could share the poetry of his day with you and he told me that I could.

Dear Diane,

My tailor came by this morning to drop off a suit. So of course I ordered some tea and we sat on my veranda just chit chatting. He’s practically my only friend in town. No, I don’t think I’m buying his friendship.

Well at one point he says “I feel like feeding the eagles. Do you want to come along?” Now how am I going to say no to that.

We hop in the car and our little adventure begins. First stop, the butcher where we pick up a few pounds of meat. Then we head to the eagles. In a small clearing behind some historic building in the old city stand two massive trees. On each branch rests a beautiful eagle. Before I know it, my friend is hurling chunks of raw meat into the air. The eagles swoop in and pluck their lunch from the sky. After some minutes of this, a few other men with similar bags come onto the scene. One shouts as he throws the meat towards the heavens, ” Cheel! Cheel! Cheel! ” eagle, eagle, eagle.
One guy has no real control of where his bit of meat goes so there are birds criss crossing all over the place.

When an eagle misses, there are plenty of low flying crows to catch the delectable delights. Some even just hang out on the ground to claim the leftovers.

Why feed the eagles I ask ? He says its “good luck”. I fed a few crows as well. I wonder what that will bring me.

Faithfully yours,

Waris
