Antoine Asseraf in NYC part 2

Hello Diane & fellow Shadees,

(First, Diane, I apologize and realize that this is going to put a dent in my computer wizard reputation, but i couldn’t figure out how to log on to typepad. shame on me. anyhoo…)

More NYC adventures. Today we weren’t feeling quite so adventurous and didn’t venture out to some far away place like Williamsburg. We barely made it across Houston to the Lower East Side.

Spotted some nice Perrier posters in front of our first stop, BBlessing, a “lifestyle” boutique for men stocked up with some RAF, Yoko Devereaux, Surface to Air, jewelry, books and indie DVD’s.

Of course, the real treat is the “secret passage”, a door in the back leading to a hidden vynil shop, masquerading as a fake record shelf.

Then we went to Schiller’s Liquor Bar to stuff ourselves silly with some deluxe Macaroni and Cheese, did some more windowlickin’, before ending up at the mecca of all glass frames afficionados, Fabulous Fannies.

Fabulous Fanny’s has an incredible collection of hundreds of vintage frames (and some new ones), sorted in drawers by color, shape, material, style, decade, etc… Though we had no need for new frames, Yoann and I just had to try some on. The shop also has several glass cases of frames not for sale, including some Eiffel Tower glasses and some antiques dating back to the early 1700’s.
