Mittelmoda fashion award 2005

Dear Shaded Viewers,

As you know Robb Young and I were on the jury for the Mittelmoda fashion awards

along with Beppe Modenese, the Honorary President of the Camera Nazionale Moda Italiana and Vittorio Missoni, VP Camera Nazionale ModaItaliana, Wendy Dagworthy, The Royal College of Art, Gaurav Gupta Art Director, Robert Phillips, Fashion editor of International Textiles, Fabrizio Servente, Director Sisley, Margareta van den Bosch, Design Director of H & M and others.

Nikolaj Pachev, Bulgaria won 3 prizes. Here he is accepting the Sisley Award of 3,000 euros plus an internship from Fabrizio Servente, the Director of Sisley. Personally I thought that 3 prizes for his collection was a bit excessive.

2nd prize went to  Puwanit CHETANANANDA from Thailand

Gaurav Gupta gave his prize to  Angela Silva FONTES from Portugal. Our friend Carlos Prada was the MC for the event. The collection of Angela Silva FONTES.

A collection that I would like to have seen win a prize, maybe the cotton or linen award, was Antonio Romano from Italy.

Other prizes went to Xi Xiao YUN from France for the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana Award for the most creative collection, Jennifer Anne Edelston from Kingston University for the Cotton Award, Kazuyoshi OTA from the BUnka Fashion College received the Linen Award, Raul Egloff Alcaide from Belgiam received the Shirt Award, Britta Uschkamp from IFM post graduate school received the Beachwear Award and the Otago Polytechnic Award from New Zealand went to Jarno VIITALA from Finland.

Jarno VIITALA and his teacher from Finland-Pachev from Bulgaria, Egloff Alcaide from Belgium and VIITALA from Finland.
