Dear Shaded Viewers, 

From 19 December 2015 to 17 April 2016 in National Museum in Krakow /Nowy Gmach, al.3 Maja 1/ is opened interesting exhibition “FASHIONable in Communist Poland” which presents a specific of polish fashion in the period of communism. It features everyday clothing of polish woman and in the same time other creations of few famous designers who worked for polish officials brands  like Moda Polska or Cora, from 50th – 80th. The authors of the exhibition tried to show the importance which polish woman attached to being fashionable in the era of  hostile and grim reality of the communistic regime and in spite of every difficulties. In theirs determination to follow the actual trends in fashion Poles, taking some inspiration from the West,  proved themselves in the own creativity towards lack of basic materials and clothes. Dozens of clothes presented at the exhibition are a sign of  original female resistance in communistic Poland.

This exhibition is a common undertaking of  both National Museums of  Cracow  and Wroc?aw.
