Louis Vuitton Shinjuku Store Opening and a great Sushi Dinner with Jed Root, George Inaki and Akiko Hamaoka

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I'm a little late playing catch up with my Tokyo experience. The day before ASVOFF Tokyo, George Inaki took me to the store opening of Louis Vuitton. By now you've seen the chandelier created by the Korean artist Do-Ho Suh,  "Cause and Effect" , which consists of 42,000 clear acrylic resin human figures suspended from a stainless steel and an alumninum frame.  Sophia Coppola did the window display.

What was also fun for me was that I kept running into old friends like Gene Krell, Junko Ishii, she used to report on my shows when I was a designer living in NYC, Karou Sasaki, the first person that brought my festival to Tokyo, and, of course, I was there with new friends Misha and George Inaki.

Frederic Grange, the CEO and company President of Louis Vuitton Japan was happy to have commissioned artists to create the atmosphere for Shinjuku's Louis Vuitton shop.

Later,

Diane
