Dear Shaded Viewers,
Balmain made travelling look desirable. The film opens with the layout of the inside of the plane as it slowly filled up and then we were off. We see the back view of Olivier Rousteing, the force behind the brand Balmain, looking like David Bowie in The Man that Fell to Earth and the clothes although completely wearable looked like they might be at home on planet mars. Metallics, parachute details and ruching, quilted studded bombers, collars like airplane pillow rests, cropped moto leather jackets with pleated sleeves, gold and silver crinkled foil dresses and coats and bags, bags, bags. The best use of the Balmain logo was on an oversized black and white coat. Made me want to travel and that is something not many of us has had the opportunity nor, in my case, even the desire.
Well done Olivier Rousteing.
Later,
Diane
