The collection, titled Sultry, is inspired less by beaches than by the rhythm of everyday life in places surrounded by water. Morning commutes, humid afternoons, sudden rain, and the quiet heat that settles over the city all shape a wardrobe designed to move comfortably from one part of the day to the next.
Function runs through the collection with a light touch. Water-repellent outerwear, relaxed shirting, drawstring trousers, and lightweight tailoring respond to changing temperatures without sacrificing refinement. Familiar workwear pieces return in updated fabrics, including Japanese paper cotton, nylon, seersucker, and duck canvas, reflecting Peter Wu’s continued interest in practical clothing with a clean, understated appearance.
The collection also carries small references to island culture. A graphic T-shirt recalls the souvenir shops found across Formosa, while embroidered patches depict buses, taxis, and the everyday traffic that fills the streets during the hottest months of the year.
