Zomer S/S 26: A Playful and Uplifting Vision of Womanhood

Zomer’s SS 26 Ready-to-Wear collection debuted at Paris Fashion Week with a bold, exuberant statement. Designer Danial Aitouganov and stylist Imruh Asha, building on their momentum from the ANDAM and LVMH Prizes, presented a show that explores the tension between growing up and blowing up. This season, Zomer fully embraces expansion over restraint: silhouettes are exaggerated, proportions distorted, and humour is woven throughout. From miniature details recalling childhood innocence to sweeping, bridal-inspired gowns, the collection celebrates the spectrum of womanhood with surprising, joyous contrasts.

Typically, a Fashion Week show is about absolute control—designers striving for a spotless presentation. Zomer, however, turned that expectation on its head. In the middle of the bright-white runway sat an oversized paint palette, loaded with vibrant, Zomer-esque colours. Selected models stepped their shoes directly into the paint, trailing footprints across the blank surface. The pristine runway became a living canvas, amplifying the duo’s bold, saturated palette and playful contrasts. It was a surprising gesture that encapsulated the collection’s spirit, merging artistry with movement and inviting the audience to see fashion as something interactive and alive.

The moment also highlighted Zomer’s collaboration with Finnish footwear brand Karhu. A fusion of ballet flats and trainers, they added a contemporary, streetwise edge, grounding the designs with a sensibility, while their passage through pools of paint cleverly underscored durability and reinforced their integral role in the show’s narrative.

The collection’s standout pieces highlighted Zomer’s inventive approach. One model entered wearing a giant pink claw clip as a top, and another with a large diamond ring looping across the torso. Others appeared in mixed prints, dresses cinched with oversized belts, and drop-waist skirts. Contrasting stripes, flowing silks, and bold, unapologetic combinations ran throughout the show. Striking yet wearable, these designs reflected the duo’s commitment to creative risk-taking while offering pieces that could transition beyond the runway—a balance made possible by the collaboration between designer and stylist.

SS26 is a celebration of growth, imagination, and creative freedom. Zomer invited the audience into a world where proportions are amplified, vivid shades dominate, and unexpected moments are embraced at every turn. In a season often defined by quiet minimalism, the collection’s energy felt like a refreshing, fearless gust of vitality, affirming the label’s ever-evolving, boundary-pushing vision.
