We move through the fog of becoming, not yet arrived, but deep in the marrow of the journey. Here, questions outlive the answers – collectively we seek order and disruption, a rhythm for emergence. TAAKK’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection is on a quest to reframe our perception of creative thinking.
As a prophecy, on two squeaky wheels —Lime Green Lightning, only announcing chaos. My parking skills led to a domino effect, a casual apocalypse, with 20 bikes down, courtesy of Getty Images for witness. Regaining composure as silhouettes mid-surface rise, fragments dwelling purpose and pulse. Designer Takuya Morikawa reimagines the very essence of everyday wear, transcending fashion to craft living, breathing inquiries. Under his guidance, TAAKK’s garments dissolve familiar silhouettes only to reconstruct them in stunning, unexpected forms. Every detail carries intent; nothing is ornamental or accidental, though they may whisper otherwise.
This season, embroidery evolves beyond decoration to become the very architecture of form. Paisley-inspired spirals of gathered ribbon add depth, structure, and shadow to supple wool. A mad crush for the grey bomber, crafted from ruched fabric strips, flourishing alongside trousers embroidered with patterns that hover subtly above the surface. These details aren’t mere accents—they are the foundation. Color speaks softly here—muted, earthy, elemental. Olive, eggshell blue, faded rose tones that murmur instead of declare. Fabrics as a superstar -TAAKK’s signature gradients reemerge with richer complexity—cotton shirting melts into suiting fabric and back again, blurring the lines between formal and casual, shirt and jacket, inside and out. The fabric itself tells a story, and the act of transformation is where meaning lives.
Takuya Morikawa doesn’t design answers. He reveals fragments. “What you see is only a sliver,” he says. “The rest is in the process.” And maybe that’s what makes this collection feel so alive: it’s not finished. It’s still becoming. Still asking. Still chasing the line where the ordinary gives way to art.
