Dear Shaded Viewers,

My friend Ivo Castaneda invited me to a showroom organized by and for avant-garde emerging designers during this season’s Men’s Paris Fashion Week. He and Gautier—co-founders of the label Castaneda—built a cardboard kingdom to present their Spring/Summer 2026 menswear collection.

The collection tells the story of a little boy who dreams of life in a grand manoir, only to be pulled back into the tenderness and absurdity of his imaginary world. Sharp tailoring with spiked shoulders and hems mixes with everyday garments hand-painted with scenes from this “imaginary manoir”—the same paintings found adorning the walls of the Castaneda atelier.

Its Castaneda’s first B2B showroom, created to introduce the collection to boutiques worldwide. On opening afternoon, buyers enthusiastically snapped photos of UV-printed masks—part of the new headwear capsule embedded within the menswear universe.

Ivo spoke with anticipation about their next chapter: a runway show this September where the men’s pieces will be joined by their women’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection. I’m, of course, looking forward to it.
