“Complètement Givrée” Womenswear F/W 25 A song of ice and fire by Mael Heinz

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Today, the Sun was radiant in Paris. A wonderful omen for the beginning of the fashion week. Especially for one of our French Young designers : Victor Weinsanto ! It’s been five years that he brings on stage the impertinence, boldness and eternal classiness of French Women. However, he presented a breathtaking collection in a basement of Republic today. This show will be a marking point of his house, aligning campiness and refinement like never before.

The show started with French comedian Camille Lellouche in a black velvet dress and a polar tiara. The real astonishment came when she sang. With a deep oniric vibrato, she set the tone for the runway. She might be a Frozen queen, but she interpreted songs about the fire within our souls. Just as she delivered complex emotions in the songs, the whole looks were a composite but with a fairytale magic.

The collection is impressive by it’s adaptability. You’ll make the credit card burn either if you’re a grand dame or a street girl. Weinsanto presented a spectrum of outfits shaped for heroins of every decade. Fluid pants starting from the breast that gives an androgyn energy with a playful side, twisted coats with strong pleats and composite jackets such as a silver one with meandering fur. Don’t worry, as a vegetarian, he uses synthetic and also overflow fabric aka deadstock, thanks to Nona Source

The Choice of colors is unique. There were mint, beige, silver and what seems like a chrome twilight pattern. The mixing of those is his tour de force creating a meeting of the opposite. Those associations embrace the silhouette. Victor’s sculpted campness, will give women great ease to spellbind every guest in a Megève Party, Inside and outside. A couple of coats have cinematic potential. Let’s hope that one is worn in a James Bond film, where a wife is as crazy as her villainous husband.

Let’s not forget the hair work by Kevin Jacotot, who gave fluent hairdos to the models transforming a couple of them into classical Italian  actresses. Claudie Linchet, the millenary long time collaborator of Jean Paul Gaultier created gigantic head pieces, channeling organic and pastoral objects. “Complement givrée” has another meaning in French : completely crazy. It is not only about winter, it’s about crazyness, crazyness, that drives you to interrogate everything and redefine order.
