Hed Mayner PFW AW25 by Rianna Murray

This season Hed Mayner stays true to his brand codes with modern takes on classic oversized tailoring and exquisite composition of rich materials that define the brand’s signature understated elegance. Although ample, his forms are soft and unimposing in a neutral color pallet that gives the collection a cozy warmth. Chain detailing and light, airy fur or fringe trimmings throughout give the looks an elevated edge that hint at street-wear opulence but in their nuance remain quite hygge– an impressive feat for his contemporary zoot-suits.

Mayner’s pieces echo the artisanal touches of his cultural influences with an agricultural undertone in their fluidity and craft which meet a more strict and utilitarian military sensibility through robust material and base tailoring which makes for a collection that is fresh and urban yet indelibly refined, and unique. Mayner brings a poised, sculptural depth to the art of bundling up in sturdy sleek materials that remain soft and playful around the edges. A military bomber’s reinforced pads are reinterpreted with exposed Sherpa inserts, utilitarian balloon trousers are produced in rich mahogany velvet or perhaps a subtle pinstripe colorway. Vintage cuts in faded neutrals are reinterpreted in large rounded geometric yet sumptuous forms, deconstructed enough to step into modernity while maintaining classic sensuality. Mayner pays homage to the classic man, with a thread of softness and approachability while also elevating this man to fashionable grandeur in his expertise.

Reserved yet powerful and artful, Mayner remains at the top of his game, master of his domain.
