Coperni Makes Fashion Month Dreams Come True At Disneyland by Bethany Berkeley

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Coperni closed off Paris Fashion Week with a bang last night. Transporting guests to Disneyland Paris for their SS25 show. Inspired by their childhood, designers Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant drew inspiration from Disneyland Paris for their newest collection.“In order to envision the future, we started from our youth. We grew up with Disney as an important part of our childhood. For many French children, particularly those from the provinces, the first family visit to the big city Paris meant a trip to Disneyland Paris,” said show notes.

Closing off the amusement park the brand hosted their show in front of the Disney castle- a figure synonymous with many childhood memories. The atmosphere was electric as guests made their way through Magic Kingdom towards Sleeping Beauty’s castle. The anticipation was palpable. At the stroke of 11 pm, the castle’s iconic pink lights faded, plunging the crowd into a hushed silence. The magic began as the Disney string orchestra filled the air with its enchanting soundtrack, evoking a sense of hope and wonder. The fireworks display, complete with dramatic lightning bolts, was a breathtaking spectacle.

The first half of the collection was a whimsical nod to Disney classics, with vintage T-shirts and Victorian tops adorned with delicate organza butterflies evoking the charm of childhood character costumes. However, the show took a darker turn with the second half. Inspired by the villainous Maleficent, Meyer and Vaillant presented a collection of powerful, all-black ensembles. Horned hoodies, wicked gowns, and monstrous leather coats, all with sharp, angular cuts, exuded a sinister allure that was undeniably captivating.

The final chapter of the collection was a celebration of Disney princesses. Blazers were embellished with vibrant floral decals, dresses featured voluminous pastel sleeves, and bodysuits were adorned with dramatic satin poufs. The show concluded with a grand finale, featuring Kylie Jenner in a stunning black gown with a form-fitting bodice and a flowing skirt, as fireworks burst from Sleeping Beauty Castle.

And if you thought that was the end Coperni kept the park open for guests to party and play, with many going on rides till the early hours of the morning — fast pass anyone? I guess dreams really do come true!

Later,
