Model to watch: Jacqui De Jong

I was recently introduced to Jacqui de Jong, an up-and-coming Australian model based in New York City. She has walked the runway at New York Fashion Week for brands including Elizabeth Munoz Atelier and Valery Ebner. She has modeled campaigns, commercial shoots and lookbooks for brands like Twin NYC, Andres Aquino, Celentano Designs, Dovi Art, Harlem Heaven Hats, Icel New York, Vava Zadi and Lazaro Sanchez Couture. She has graced the cover of indie magazines like Style Cruze, Anastasia Magazine, Blur Magazine and Selin Magazine, and has been interviewed on her fashion expertise by Forbes and Fashion Week Online.

She comes from the corporate law world. Jacqui studied law at Cambridge University in England and Monash University in Australia before moving to New York City. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2023. Jacqueline is transitioning from a corporate law career to modeling and acting, seeking to express her creative side. She has a strong interest in vintage fashion and maximalism, which she incorporates into her personal style and Instagram content. Jacqui defines her style as maximalist. She has a kinship with vintage clothing, and mixes modern with traditional touches.

“My bold style blends bold colors, shimmering sequins, feminine floral detail and timeless beauty,” she says. “Vintage glamor never goes out of style–especially met with modern sophistication.” Jacqui embraces maximalism, combining bold colors, patterns, and textures to create standout outfits. She finds inspiration in figures like Princess Diana and believes in expressing oneself regardless of trends.

Next up, Jacqui is collaborating with a Japanese couture designer for a custom-made piece–she also speaks fluent Japanese, by the way. She is also working on walking the runway for Elizabeth Munoz Atelier in September for New York Fashion Week and will be collaborating with Sidney Edwards, an artist and former creative Art Director at J. Crew who is creating watercolor paintings of Jacqui’s style. She is also going to be doing shoots for brands like Donny’s Angel, Valery Ebner and Better than O’Kae shoes.
