There was a buzz of anticipation at the HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE with colourful pleated garments suspended from the awe-inspiring nave of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. A black clad team began unfurling a colossal roll of pleated paper. Garments were concealed between the layers of white paper.
A team adorned in black revealed the garments sandwiched between the two layers intertwining the pleating process with the show’s scenography. This meticulously orchestrated fusion elevated the art of pleating to new heights of refinement, an integral part of HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE’s creative narrative. Every model was dressed in the meticulously crafted garments, connecting the rhythm of everyday life effortlessly with the scenography.
The Spring/Summer 2024 collection, aptly named “Everyday, One of a kind, Now and Hereafter,” served as a profound testament to the brand’s exploration of pleating technology’s artistry. Beyond its technical marvel, this collection exuded an air of lightness and joy. As the HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE Spring/Summer 2024 collection unfurled its pleated splendor, it illuminated the profound beauty that lies within the art of pleating. In this symphony of pleats, the collection transcended the ordinary, offering wearers a vibrant canvas to express their unique selves and embrace the essence of joy.
Collections were broken down into themes: monthly colors, rectangle, picturesque, horizon, wing coat, PL ramie shirt, edge ensemble and edge coat light.
New this collection were the “LIKE LOAFERS” a new pair of shoes inspired by an elegant wardrobe. The loafers are crafted from a stretchy material, making them effortlessly casual and easy to slip on. Available in three colors: beige, anthracite, and black.
