Girl armour at Dilara Fındıkoğlu LFW A/W 2023 by Leticia Dare

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Dilara Fındıkoğlu’s Fall/Winter 23/24 collection was a stunning and emotionally charged tribute to the power and beauty of women. Through her designs, Dilara celebrated the strength and resilience of women who have fought for their rights and freedoms throughout history and around the world.

What struck me most about this collection was the incredible attention to detail and the way in which each piece told its own story. From the hair dress that represented the Iranian women who protested by cutting off their locks to the knife dress that celebrated the idea of “girl armor,” each design was a powerful statement about the ways in which fashion can be used to empower and inspire.

Dilara’s commitment to female self-expression was evident in every piece of the collection, and it was inspiring to see how she used fashion to challenge gender norms and celebrate the complexities and contradictions of modern femininity. This was a collection that was both beautiful and meaningful, and it left me feeling hopeful and energized about the future of fashion and the role it can play in shaping a more just and equitable world.
