Cocooned fetish florals at Richard Quinn LFW FW 22/23 – text by Leticia Dare

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Hypnotic, emotional and bright are the words that come to mind after viewing Richard Quinn’s FW 22/23 show on Saturday night. As a full orchestra played “Adagio for Strings” under an enormous crystal chandelier in the middle of a delicious musty pink curtained and carpeted room, the show began. It was colourful, voluminous and sculptural shapes mixed amongst 3D textured fabrics – that took inspiration from the golden years of Parisian haute couture sensibilities – and his trademark black latex skins with bright unapologetic florals that floated around the room. As although it was a dark and gloomy winters night outside, inside the world of Richard Quinn it was bold, exaggerated and fantasy filled. With nods to S&M – gimp mask included – meets English flower prints upon amour like cocooned figures to oversized hats with naughty peep holes complete with hat box in hand, I loved every bit! Yum!

Later,

Leticia
