In order to ‘play’ I ‘paused’ for a moment…”
PAUSE≒PLAY Spring / Summer 2022 collection is a direct reflection of Takahiro’s thoughts and emotions accumulated over the past 6 months, and expressed as if directly from his personal diary of elusive thoughts and emotions. Takahiro, famously known for expressing urgency to further evolve fashion and always look forward, chooses instead, in this collection, to PAUSE. And in doing so he has reevaluated the very reason why he designs.
He pressed PAUSE for a moment in order to press PLAY again.
This ‘comeback’ runway show of sorts, with the last in person show being back in Fall / Winter 2020, Paris, is an optimistic expression of Takahiro’s humble devotion to fashion and garment creation.
The collection PAUSE≒PLAY is characterized by faux-upcycled jackets, multi functional 3way trousers, garments with functionality of bags, all encouraging the wearer to move forward and PLAY on their own terms.
Takahiro’s response to the current upcycling trend was to create a new way of achieving the look as seen through the a few of the collections jackets including a new take on vests.
