When it comes to celebrity sightings, there is one show you must watch out for and that is Versace.

For the spring summer 22, the Versace runway was filled with celebrities and top-models… Dua Lipa, Naomi Campbell, Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Irina Shayk to name a few. Donatella knows exactly how to navigate through social media and make Versace the point of conversation.

With a cutout blazer dress decorated with Versace-signature safety pins, Dua Lipa kicked off the show while her famous hit song “Physical” played in the background. The collection was divided into colours and materials, with the first line-up featuring all black ensembles with splashes of colour peeking under (the strongest pieces of the season, if you ask me), revealing a more serious side of the brand, while still remaining provocative and sexy.

The collection then evolved towards brighter colours, unveiling the flirtatious side of Versace. Varsity jackets, neon-latex dresses, mini skirts, loose pajama looks in printed silks, bikini-tops, chainmail dresses… the type of vibrant, youthful looks that will get you excited for summer.

The overall theme of the season was the beautiful foulard with the iconic baroque motifs, which were envisioned as the sleeves of jackets, dress slits, hems of miniskirts, cover-ups for straw bags… a display of richness and temptation.

“The foulard is a fundamental component of Versace’s heritage and character .This season it turns everything on its head, it is no longer fluid or dreamy, the scarf is provocative, sexy, wound tight.” Versace explained in the shownotes.

The brand also revealed that it has teamed up with Silvia Venturini Fendi and Kim Jones on a collection which is expected to be presented on Sunday. After a difficult year with the pandemic, just like Gucci and Balenciaga, Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada, fashion brands are putting competition aside and coming together to stand in solidarity. We will see what will come out of the collaboration, but for now let’s enjoy the vibrant world of Versace.
