You cannot blame Rick Owens for making his live shows in his second home in Venice’s Lido Beach. He spends half the year there and is just a short drive away from the factory. “doing live stream shows on the beach in front of my house felt like a retreat but not a defeat.” This season Owens reflects on where we’ve been and with that in mind chooses to mix glam with responsibility. For accessories he works with Goossens, the house that once produced jewelry for Coco Chanel, Christobal Balenciaga and Madame Gres back in the 1950’s, for Rick they produced brutalist chokers.

Rick invited a young creator to both rip old stock apart reconstruct it into new pieces so that he now has deconstructions of the deconstructions and in addition he asked the creative to model in the show.

Textiles include: certified organic cotton, biodegradable cotton waste cupro or FSC certified viscose, pirarucu dragon scale leather, a food byproduct produced by indigenous communities in Brazil. He is working towards sustainability, it is a beginning, not the ultimate end.
