Dear Shaded Viewers,

Very much in the spirit of our beloved Jean Paul Gaultier, “Diamant De Nuit” designer Pressiat brings us a new voice from Paris. The French Designer launched his new brand during, and perhaps thanks to,  the pandemic. His past experience includes working with Galliano at Margiela and Olivier Rousteing at Balmain. The collection is inspired by Paris at the beginning of the last century but I cannot help thinking of JPG. The collection was launched at the Daunou Theatre in Paris as a reaction to all of the actors that have been forced out of work due to COVID-19. The main references are the 1930’s, the Roaring Twenties,  Prohibition  as well as a Victorian inspiration in the lingerie and corsetry. Often the fashion looks like the shedding of one skin only to reveal another in a revitalised decadence.

Later,

Diane
