From climate to screens, planetary disorders are changing our visual culture.
For fifteen days, the Hors Pistes festival invites filmmakers, artists and researchers to alert the eyes and glimpse other futures.
Can we imagine and practice an ecology of images?
Can we, instead of conquering images, substitute visions of artists in the form of omens, intent on alerting to the dangers and possibilities of a planetary transformation whose effects are yet to come?
These questions will run through the 16th edition of Hors Pistes, a festival dedicated to exploring all forms of the moving image, and to meeting those who make it the subject of their creation, their thinking and their writing.
Kelly Reichardt in cinema, Vinciane Despret in philosophy, Jérôme Bel in the field of contemporary dance, Nicolas Gourault in visual arts, Philippe Descola in the anthropology of images, and many others will guide our glances and our steps.
