CASABLANCA – Autumn Winter 2021 Men’s – PFW – Text by Ivo Barraza Castaneda.

Casablanca  embodies the energy of contemporary men, men who enjoy playing with fashion as a reflection of their creative competence and maybe their wealth. Autumn Winter 2021 is called “Casablanca Grand Prix”, the film shows a big party happening inside a Casino which looks more like a mansion. It’s actually one of the signatures of the brand to play with the cliché codes of extreme wealth, reinterpreted by the designer in a new exciting way. Another signature of Casablanca is the work on printed silk garments and accessories, which are more present than ever in this collection and are beautifully executed. The big print in this collection is the diamond print inspired by Formula One.

The  mood of AW21 is inspired by the 60’s, which you can see reflected in the use of prints, in the styling of the models or characters (Hard to always recognise the difference in our current era of fashion film presentations) and of course even on the soundtrack of the film. The mix of evening wear with the universe of speed and racing creates a completely new aesthetic, an aesthetic out of this world. We love it! We are big fans!

Ivo Barraza Castaneda

Hello, my name is Ivo. My three favorite things in life are: Thinking deeply about visual creation. I like having long discussions of ideas that might reinvent the course of history. And finally, spending time with the people I love. Since I was a child, I was always involved in some activity around plastic arts, music and literature. That’s how I learned to sew by hand at the age of five, which later led me to focus on my main professional media: Fashion Design.
