VETEMENTS – Autumn Winter 2021 Men’s – PFW – text by Ivo Barraza Castaneda

The great and probably biggest representatives of normcore VETEMENTS are showing a pretty big collection for the AW21 season. In fact, it’s interesting how the general aesthetic has shifted from normcore to a more subculture related aesthetic, I guess it was always the vision of VETEMENTS to be part of whatever the idea of dressing up it is for the main subculture, in 2013 it was normcore, now it is hardcore.

Everything is there in the new collection, all references from the Demna’s years. The french theme, the Margiela references, the racing, the goth… All the codes have been institutionalized. I wonder how far the brand will go without the hype of their beginnings.
