The New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a new exhibition called “About Time: Fashion and Duration” which compares design over 150 years, from the years 1870 to 2020. The exhibition opened its doors on October 28th and will continue until February 2021.

If you are an Iris van Herpen fan like me, you can see the iconic “Hybrid Holism” gown displayed in the hall with mirrors in About Time exhibition and the iconic “Skeleton” dress displayed in “Making the Met: 1870 – 2020” exhibition.

Apart from exhibitions, the brand is also making headlines in the music industry, as we have seen Lady Gaga wearing Sensory Seas’ collection for Apple Music and wore a technicolour custom Haute Couture dress for the 2020 MTV VMAs promoting her latest single Chromatica both directed by Nicola Formichetti and styled by Marta Del Rio.

For the latest Walt Disney movie, Christina Aguilera wore Physalia dress from Sensory Seas collection for the new rendition of “Reflection” from Mulan, directed by Niki Caro and styled by Karen Clarkson.

Sofia Carson wore from Iris van Herpen’s Between the Lines collection for her music video “Guess I’m a Liar”, directed by Hannah Lux Davis and styled by Nicolas Bru.

Also in editorials, Iris van Herpen’s Sensory Seas collection made many appearances; Elaine Zhong wore the Sensory Seas “Nautiloid” dress, photographed by Kiki Xue for Harper’s Bazaar China’s October issue. In Vogue Korea’s August issue, models HyunJi Shin and Yoon Young Bae stunned in Sensory Seas dresses, photographed by Hyea W. Kang and Madame Figaro China’s September issue, actress Vicki Zhao Wei wore Sensory Seas, photographed by W. Lei & J. Kun and styled by Min Rui.

In the September issue of Allure magazine, American model Hunter Schafer was photographed by Daniella Midenge and styled by Nicola Formichetti, wearing Frozen Falls headpiece part of the Syntopia collection.
