The one time I experienced Day of the Dead in Mexico

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Six years ago ASVOFF screened in Mexico for the third time.   I had always dreamed of being there for Day of the Dead. The shoot was supposed to start at 5 am, it started closer to 7h30 and by then the tide was against us and the position in the boat was anything but comfortable, I thought that the ride would never end. Before each shoot the director wanted to have everyone in a circle holding hands and saying a prayer. As the day had started at 5am, 20 hours later , 2 graveyards later, and the director asked if we could visit yet another graveyard I drew the line.. The interview at the end was a total surprise to me but it completed a very intense experience. If you’ve never experienced Día de Muertos, it did live up to my fantasy.
