Dear Shaded Viewers,

An ode to the past, present and future of craftsmanship, Survival of the Fashionest’s first show in Paris made our minds travel to James Hilton’s Shangri-La. The small but exquisite show is named BETEKEN, a dutch word which means “to signify” and “to draw” and sounds like a fictional tribe. Joost Jansen makes extensive use of folkloric motives in his fifth collection. All the pieces are handmade in fact they are all  hand-knitted by 250 grandmothers in Bulgaria. It was a tender and relaxing moment for all to enjoy.

A fashion statement? Yes, not powerful, but meaningful.
