Sam Kaprielov at Galerie Belem Grand Palais Art Paris stand D21

Dear Shaded Viewers,

The work of Sam Kaprielov is a mix of 1940’s cinema, sci-fi, art history and christian iconography, architecture , literature, and cartoons. In the series Art Noir, Sam Kaprielov sculpts the shadows and light, playing with contrasts. His work is close to ‘film noir’ with the decor and personalities and accessories taking inspiration from Russian revolutionaries and Orson Welles or Fritz Lang. His technique is like a lighting director for the cinema.
