Antoine KRUK and his exhibition at Alfalibra Gallery until December 1st.

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I’m a  lover of illustration and so I went to Alfalibra Gallery even before it was open to the press. I had a private view with Antoine KRUK. He presented about 20 artworks in “Fashion Illustrators” exhibition that is currently on view until the first of December.

For this exhibition he transformed real shopping bags of major brands such as Chanel, Givenchy, Balenciaga, Louboutin and our dearly beloved Jean Paul Gaultier, and others, into new drawings.

The upcycling process is also applied by the artist for black ink drawings using some collage with newspapers or magazines in order to add colour and give a new sense to the images.

“Fashion is an endless beginning, so why not start with something from the fashion business instead of a virgin white paper? Fashion evokes a beautiful attitude as well as the consumer society and I like to make people smile, look or thing about themselves.” said Antoine KRUK.

The exhibition also puts together three other great artists: Ali Mahdavi, Marc Antoine Coulon and Izac Zenou for a total of 100 art works on display.

A visit is highly recommended by ASVOF.
