Kupka at the Grand Palais text and photos by Marco de Rivera

Dear Shaded Viewers,

KUPKA the Pioneer of Abstraction is currently at the Grand Palais. The retrospective traces František Kupka’s journey from symbolism to abstraction.  The artists singular personality is revealed in the 300 paintings, drawings, engravings, books and documents that bring the artist to life. As we walk through the rooms we discover his different artistic periods and his intellectual path that plunges us into a universe rich in colors, shapes and motion. This exhibition is organised by the Réunion des Musées Nationaux-Grand Palais in partnership with the Center Pompidou, Paris and the Národní Gallery v Prague.
