I attended the conference on L’Art et la Matiere today as a guest of WOOLMARK. It was interesting to hear the diverse activities of WOOLMARK from National Geographic to Dior to surfing gear increasingly pushing the edges on performance. With the collaboration with National Geographic they were testing out wool in an extreme environment. Simon Porte Jacquemus aka Jacquemus spoke about his love for fabrics and his attraction to Marche Saint Pierre, the fabric district in Monmartre. Jacquemus and Nichanian had a nice exchange while the filmmaker Olivier Nicklaus animated the discussion between the three participants.
To celebrate the second edition of Vogue Paris Fashion Festival Vogue Paris selected 8 designers to create with Swarovski: Rodarte, Brandon Maxwell, Iris Van Herpen, Schiaparelli, Wanda Nylon, Jeremy Scott, Faustine Steinmetz and Alexandre Vauthier.
The event took place at Palais Potocki and continues through the 25th November.
