Dear Shaded Viewers,
I always find it more interesting when designers don’t come to fashion directly. Omer Asim studied architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture and psychoanalytic studies where he became intrigued by the relationship between mind and clothing and that led him to studying creative pattern cutting at Central Saint Martins. The shapes hark back to unpretentious primitive language, tailoring is a fascination, some adhered to while others are subverted to the benefit of new fabric development. Two signature textiles are lacquered-knit and chiffon layered-horsehair. Stockists include IF in New York and Dubai and Selfridges-London.
