Celebrating 10 years of The Peninsula Tokyo at The Peninsula Paris with cherry blossoms on our minds

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I was invited to celebrate the season of the cherry blossoms and the 10 year anniversary of the Peninsula Tokyo at the Peninsula Paris. There were varied dimensions to the event. First we were greeted by beautiful kimonos by the designer Junko Koshino, then a delicious lunch, and in between courses a condensed Kabuki performance by the most talented and highly acclaimed Kabuki actor, 17 year old Sennosuke Kataoka.

He started performing at the age of 4 when he debuted in Kabukiza Theater. I am sure you already know, but just in case, all the characters in Kabuki are played by men. After desert Kataoka took to the stage to answer a few questions, one was for him to demonstrate how he portrayed a man and how he portrayed a woman and what it felt like to do that. My little rough style video responds to that.
