Gosha Rubchinskiy prepares for 2018 FIFA World Cup

To paraphrase Luke Skywalker, if there’s a bright center to the fashion universe, Gosha Rubchinskyi’s fall show in Kaliningrad was geographically farthest from it. Last season, his Florentine offering lit up Pitti’s 90th edition, with its tailoring enhanced take on sportswear and wooed the traditional menswear crowd. This iteration brought more of the same but the change in context also read as a continued affirmation of his pride in his homeland, from the street cast he sourced all over the country, right down to the cuts – from the revolutionary student wavy hair-do, right down to the brutal sports fan.

Beyond this, the collection showcased another of Rubchinskyi’s canny sportswear collaboration, this time with adidas and the first kick in preparation for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup taking place in Russia.
