Like Marilyn Monroe, who can resist diamonds and pearls. The Japanese brand Tasaki opened its first store in Europe at the newly renovated Ritz in Paris. Tasaki is a heritage brand from Japan with a nine story flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo. One of the half a dozen collections that I saw today was done in collaboration with the Ritz and as a celebration of the Hotel and timed with the opening after 4 years of renovation. Tasaki Ritz Paris took its inspiration from the archives of the hotel which by the way opened its doors for the first time in 1898. Imagine a claw foot on a chair, a feather worn in a clients hair, the spirit of the architecture, all could be transformed into a treasure in diamonds and pearls.

The Tasaki brand is known for having a pearl farm where they always have 2,000,000 pearls in the sea. As they oversee every step of the process they can insure the brands haute quality. Along with their sea of pearls they hold the only site for DeBeers diamonds in Japan which means that like the pearls they cut the raw diamonds themselves with their own highly crafted technique.

The New York designer, Thakoon Panichgul, is the creative director for the brand Tasaki.
