Following the huge success of the London show in 2009, Rankin Live continues to gain momentum around the globe and has now successfully taken place Milan, Paris, LA and beyond. Rankin and his team invite real members of the public into the studio to shoot their portraits… from shooting to on the wall in fifteen minutes. Rankin himself describes it as “the most ambitious project I’ve ever undertaken”. Rankin Live has given members of the public the exclusive opportunity to feature in front of a lens that has shot the likes of George Clooney, Grace Jones, Daniel Craig and countless others.
On Saturday, April 30th 2016 the KaDeWe will team up with photographer Rankin to transport the Rankin Live concept to our vibrant capital. Berliners and spectators from around the world are invited to take part in a live, experiential photo shoot – a piece of photographic theatre, right here in the heart of Berlin. Collectively creating a “Portrait of Berlin” www.portraitofberlin.de
Try your hand at entering into the Rankinlive event by taking a selfie and uploading an interesting portrait of yourself on social media channels with a short text on what makes them a #portraitofberlin. Each Sunday between the 04.04.16 and 24.04.14 at 5pm, five portraits will be selected and a final ten in the final week will be selected and announced on the dedicated blog www.portraitofberlin.de and via KaDeWe’s social media #portraitofberlin #kadewe #berlin.
