NEITH NYER FALL/WINTER 16-17 – BY JALEESA THIJM

Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers

“A ferocious blending of street-wear and couture, transposing the life of a village under the attack of bloodthirsty creatures” the words that Neith Nyer uses to describe his second collection showed Paris Fashion Week. The reference to a popular card game is seen throughout the collection.  Neith Nyer re-interpretated and added characters of the card game, ‘Le loup-garou de Thiercelieux' in order to build a full set of strong individuals. Smoking models parading in wrinkled jeans and waistbands, combined with oversized coats, short tailored jackets and leather ensembles. The palette was coloured in black, camel, blue and white with an addition touch of feathers and fur. The combination of used materials and cut and feel of the garments made for a nice blend of minimal and edgy pieces transcending in wearable street couture.

Best,

Jaleesa
