single commission and limited edition work by Tabor and Villalobos at IF SOHO from November 10-16 presented in collaboration with Cristina Grajales Gallery

Dear Shaded Viewers,

The installation will feature the latest installments of Failed Waxes, a series of one-of-a-kind jewelry that celebrates the accidental beauty that occurs when traditional manufacturing processes break down.

The jewelry is cast in bronze, a material revered in fine art sculpture but considered second rate in the world of luxury fashionand jewelry. the interior of each cuff and vessel is coated in 24K gold , a precious secret that is hidden against the wearer's skin. The collection features single commissions and limited and numbered editions of t or 10.

IF will also show single commission textiles that will be installed in the store's windows. They were created in collaboration with Louis Nunez the owner of TRIMWORLD, one of the last embroidery houses still operating in New York. The pieces feature Tabor & Villalobos artworks that were inspired by Nazars, charms used to ward off the evil eye in Mediterranean and Western Asian cultures.

In additionthere will be four special textiles created in collaboration with Parsons MFA student Jahnkoy Maria. These pieces mix pearls with hardwear for everyday life.

This exhibition is presented as an off-site event during the Salon Art + Design Fair, where Tabor & Villalobos' work will also be shown with the CRISTINA GRAJALES GALLERY.
