JEAN CLAUDE JITROIS PRESENTS SPRING SUMMER 2016 COLLECTION

Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,

On Saturday October 3, French luxury designer Jean Claude Jitrois presented his spring-summer 2016 collection in Paris in his Rivoli apartment.

The collection consisted of several pieces that reflected a light, breezy, hippie aesthetic with a dark twist. The clothing utilizes a warm, neutral color palette with the occasional azure blue.

Inspired by Charles Petillon’s installation of 100,000 balloons in Covent Garden market in London and the ladder later added by Marc Chagall, his own seminars in Zurich at the Karl Gustav Jung Institute, and his favorite books “Down There” and “Against the Grain,” Jitrois wanted to create a collection captured all of these influences with the use of light, colors, symbols and more elements.

He was also inspired by vintage lithographs with pagan iconography. This influence was seen in his choice of fabrics like leather, tulle and silk and the embroideries referencing astrology.
