Dear Shaded Viewers,
yesterday Undercover showed a mix of Robespierre style with the typical Circus apparel (the location Cirque d'Hiver was perfectly linked to the mood) with hint of rock. The most interesting pieces were the integrated backpacks welded into garments, that acted in the forms of teddy bear jackets, trenches or waistcoats in a constant game of layering. Braided navy jackets go over trenches with streamline pants, the simplest piece for all day ease that seemed to be the starting point of every look, even pairing with cut out colorful tulle skirts and gowns. Detachable jabot and Pierrot alike collars adorned some of the simplest knitwear or long sleeved shirt dresses tied to the body with satin colorful ribbons.
Models had their lips covered by glitter that made them look like clowns, some of them wearing Swarovski cat headpieces, boots seemed to be in between 70’s style Chelsea Boots and the “bottes” of the French Revolution’s soldiers. Least but not last a homage to the Rolling Stones whose old pictures mirrored into the spades were printed on a series of black and white esembles. Jun Takahashi seemed in a festive mood as he is celebrating his brand infusing the collection with all that he usually likes: sportswear mixed with evening wear, rock music, color and fun-ctionality.
Later,
Giorgia
