Dear Shaded Viewers,

Alber Elbaz exposes his personal hands-on approach to his work in a series of 350 images which have been made by photographers as well as workers at Lanvin: But Sou Lai, Mark Leibowitz, Katy Reiss, James Bort, Juliette Da Cunha et Alex Koo. The black and white photographs of But Sou Lai were specially commissioned for this exhibition. The toiles were created by the Lanvin atelier based upon the pattrns of pieces from past collections by Alber Elbaz. Sculpted in the finest black fabrics – washed silk, silk tulle, brocade, lace, satin duchess – the garments purposely left unfinished, in construction. Alber's idea was to shine a light on the exceptional craftsman.
