SHOW2015 – ANTWERP FASHION DEPARTMENT – EDOARDO ROSSI

Edoardo Rossi – Mint Grin

The performative aspect of masculinity is at the heart of this menswear collection by Eduardo Rossi from Genova. He takes the glaring colors of football shirts worn by typical Italian alpha males and fuses it with architecture and pigments from Morocco, Indonesia and Southern Italy.

Rossi works on magical, surrealistic Photoshop collages in which the silhouettes twirl and move through the air like acrobats, and translates this into a sports- oriented feeling without becoming too literal: scanned football shirts become layers and folds of a new silhouette. Bright peacock colors evoke both the group mentality of soccer fans and the desire to stand out. Denim gets treated with a spotted devor
