AVTANDIL FALL WINTER 2015/16 – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI

Dear Shaded Viewers,

One of Georgia's most famous designers, Avtandil Tskvitinidze graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1995. Presented during the first edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi, his clothes were both structured and playful, hovering between tradition and experimentation, masculine sharpness and feminine details. Avtandil is, in fact, already sold in the US, France, Germany, Russia and Kazakhstan, proving the brand has a faithful audience. Using stripes and words as graphic accents, Tskvitinidze proposed a lean silhouette, demonstrating his skills as a fine tailor. His elongated pantsuits and narrow jackets were flattering, evoking the late 1960s, as well as androgynous rockstars. Think Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts meets New York Dolls' David Johansen.

Best,

Philippe
