MARRIAGE YEAR ONE A FILM BY JOSEPH LALLY

Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,

Filmmaker Joseph Lally has made a film for A Shaded View On Fashion. A feminist art film that examines what a woman gives up when she enters a marriage contract. Beautfiul and sinister overtones are employed in a narrative composed mostly of body language and longing, starring Linda Kanyo and Bart Grzybowski. The material results in a fashion film where the complexity seeped into the shoot and the post production. Joseph began to realize the body language of romance can be viewed as aggressive, as if one person is either trying to take control or devour the personality of the other. As a film maker he is deeply influenced by film artist Jean Luc Godard and like him, he freely associate a myriad of ideas when confronted by the material in the editing room. The question that came up is: WHAT DO MEN REALLY WANT FROM WOMEN? and of course in return, “What do women want from men? The concept results in a well made fashion film, enjoy.

Best,

Jaleesa
