UNITED NUDE COLLECTION OF SCULTURAL SHOES FROM DESIGN FASHION WEEK 2015

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I went around to have a look at the most interesting projects presented during Milan Design Week. Let me start with UNITED NUDE.
United Nude is a shoe brand, famous for his advanced style and its attitude for innovation. A story dated back 2003 that happened to start with a broken heart, the heart of its founder Architect Rem D Koolhaas (not to be confused with his Archistar uncle) tried to win back his girl by downsizing architecture into the most achievable scale; that of a woman’s foot. He started to design shoes, the first shoe ‘the Mobius’ that was developed with the guidance of the great Sergio Rossi and technical shoemaker Maurizio Martignago in Italy. Ever since, United Nude has become the iconic brand at the intersection of fashion and design, creating shoes that are about clear concepts and experimental shapes. During Milan Design Week UNITED NUDE launched a new concept: Re-Inventing Shoes, involving names like Ben van Berkel (UNStudio), Zaha Hadid, Ross Lovegrove, Fernando Romero and Michael Young. The project is about pushing the boundaries to the developing technology of 3D printing, by creating shoes with a total sculptural attitude.
The first collaboration was with Zaha Hadid a couple of years ago and later with Iris Van Herpen. The aim of these collections is to produce conversational pieces, when there is room for conversation, there is room for art.
Later,
Giorgia
