There was a private opening at the Michel Rein Paris gallery for ORLAN Masques, Pekin Opera Facing Designs & Realite Augmentee. The show officially opens on Saturday so if you are in Paris stop by and ORLAN will also be there.I was invited to a private dinner chez Michel Rein and in a little while I'll let you feel as if you were with us when I post a very low-fi video from my iPhone with ORLAN and a mask and an introduction to how the project got started in the first place and how a florist made a scan of herforherat the amazingly low price of 300 EUROS.
This is the 3rd personal show of ORLAN's since 2003 at the Michel Rein Gallery.ORLAN'S preoccupations, for those few of you not in the know, are: technology and feminism, art history and surgery, football and religion, sex and politics. "ORLAN is a plaurel minority. ORLAN is a performer,film director, photographer,sculptor,painter,activist: a one woman band without unison, multi-tasking and multi body.AND she was the ASVOFF President a few years ago and I am very blessed to have her as a friend.
The show will be up from September 6 – Oct 18th.
